All the sugar operations have D6’s and D8’s with several smaller dozers. ![]() Most any of the 5K+ acre farms in FL has at least 1 ) D6 high track and a 320 size hoe. My old boss in NE AR has some serious dirt moving equipment: 2 ) D8R, and 3 ) D6R LGP’s. If you want to get finished this decade I totally agree with PB. Moving dirt more than 300' with a dozer is a losing losing proposition anyway and best left to scrapers. Unless you have a lot of short pushes and big yardages to move i would stick with a 700XLT/LPG. A 750 with a PAT is going to be compromise and just as hard to move as a 750 SU. However, a 750 SU blade is going to move 50% more dirt per push compared to a 700 PAT blade. The 700XLT/LPG is the best finish dozer on the market and is capable in production work. When you get to the J 750's then we might be talking about something entirely different. I'm guessing that it's far more user friendly then some of the earlier 750's. I currently have been running a 700H sitting here that I have used to push off dirt that I am stockpiling for someone else. It really depends on what year dozer we are talking about. It's great on brush, though, and the hydrostat is a lot quicker and handier then a powershift. It will build a waterway or terrace, but it's not really the right tool for the job. It's too small for any sort of real dirt work. We have a 1550 Case, which is pretty equivalent to an 850 Deere. Once you start getting into that size machine then CAT rules the market. Anything bigger than than the 700 size is not as popular because all Deere dozers are hydrastatic drive. The 700j will have better resale (at least in our area ) and is the same size as a D5N (approx 28k ). Anyone have experience using the dozers like this? Thanks Wondering if we need to jump up to the 750 for the dirt work. We will use it for pushing trees to brush pile (trackhoe will remove the trees ), building waterways and teraces. We are wanting to purchase a used dozer for farm use. ( logon | register )ĭeere Dozers 700 or 750? Jump to page : 1 Now viewing page 1 ![]()
